FREIGHT TRAIN 200
December 3, 2026
Wolfe City to Farmersville, Texas

This isn’t just another ultra—it’s a declaration of pure human engine capability. We built Freight Train because we believe in substance over volume. By staging the 25-mile, 50-mile, and 100-mile fields directly alongside the premier 200-mile main event, we completely eliminate the illusion of intimidation. On these tracks, short-distance runners and multi-day monsters rub shoulders on the exact same dirt trail, proving that we are all ordinary humans capable of extraordinary feats through pure willpower.
Motivation is easy when things are easy. Pure drive lasts—can’t stop this freight train.
We are proud to dedicate this inaugural journey to the memory of Ellis Emerson—a Badwater 135 finisher, aspiring Boston Marathon runner, and a true testament to the power of human endurance while chasing dreams. She embodies exactly what it means to have Pure Drive.
The SIGMAWOLF Manifesto (Substance Over Mortgages)
We refuse to charge ridiculous corporate fees. We keep our overhead minimal so that runners, crews, and families can actually afford to experience and enjoy the local areas. You don’t need to take out a second mortgage or a bank loan just to toe the line at our races. We are about raw substance, not charging you premium prices for picturesque backdrops and manicured marketing photos. We boil things down to what really matters: what this sport was, and what it should continue to be.
We keep entry fees low so elite athletes don’t have to live out of a camper eating stale bread and junk food just to afford a bib. (Yeah, we’re looking at you, Hans Troyer).

Schedule
We are built for real people with real, busy lives. Our 200-milers launch Thursday afternoon at 2:00 PM, allowing you to clear the first major stretch of trail and hit the milestone towns right during peak evening hours when local spots are wide open. You’ll head back into the darkness toward Wolf City with the camp fully established for your first strategic nap.
The Real People Clause: If your travel, work, or family schedule makes it impossible to toe the line at the exact wave launch time, notify us directly. We accommodate real life. Furthermore, there is no corporate clock here—if you are determined to finish on Sunday, the Race Director will be standing at that finish line waiting for you.
- Thursday (2:00 PM): 200-Mile Premier Field Launch
- Saturday (Early Morning): 100-Mile & 50-Mile Fields Deploy (Staggered waves to keep trail traffic clean)
- Sat / Sun (Morning Waves): 25-Mile Sprint Fields Launch (Depending on registration volume, fields may be split across both days to maximize trail capacity)
- Sunday (2:00 PM): Final Master Course Cut-off (72-Hour Max Limit for the 200M)
SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
- The Track: Operating along the historic Northeast Texas Trail (NETT), launching from Wolfe City’s Tom Ellis White Campground fighting down to the finish line at the Farmersville’s Onion Shed.
- Support the Grid: SIGMAWOLF is built on community. We coordinate directly with local school organizations and community groups to host our events.
- Bring Cash or Card: We highly encourage all runners, crews, and families to shop local and hit the restaurants, diners, and stores within Wolfe City and Farmersville.
- Need Expert Gear? If you need to dial in your ultra kit or grab last-minute trail gear, our friends down the street in McKinney, TX—[Hyperlyte] and [Fooster]—call these area trails home and are the reigning local experts.
Old-School Timing
We don’t do massive corporate tech fluff or expensive timing chips that drive up registration costs. We run this old-school: manual clipboard logs at checkpoints backed up by continuous video recording files at the timing arch. It’s foolproof, honest, and respects the roots of the sport.
Pacer Regulations (No Free Rides)
Pacers are safety assets, not tow-ropes.
- 200-Mile Field: No pacers allowed until you cross the Mile 50 checkpoint.
- 100-Mile Field: No pacers allowed until you cross the Mile 25 checkpoint.
- 50-Mile & 25-Mile Fields: Absolutely no pacers allowed. Seriously, if you need someone to pace you through a short sprint or a single-lap 50, that’s just funny. Do the work yourself.
Race Intel & Community Logs
- We are actively finalizing local permits and town logistics. Details will be broadcast via email briefings to all registered runners as we approach winter.
